The Long Island Parrot Society is the area's largest exotic bird club. 	AUGUST 25 - Show Meeting for volunteers, Freeport Recreation Center 7PM
	SEPTEMBER 6 - Town of Brookhaven 29th Annual Country Fair, 11am to 5:00pm Longwood Estate - Ridge, NY - Volunteers Needed.
	SEPTEMBER 7 - 3rd Annual Marine & Outdoor Recreation Expo from 11:00am to 5pm; Jones Beach West End Boat Basin in Short Beach. (Rain Date: Sunday September 14, 2008) - Volunteers Needed.
	SEPTEMBER 17 - Book party! Mira Tweti, author, "Of Parrots and People," sponsored by Viking Press.
	SEPTEMBER 27 & 28 - 22nd Annual Bellmore Family Street Festival from 11:00am to 6:00pm, Bellmore, NY. This years theme is "Kickin' Up Country" - Volunteers Needed.
	OCTOBER 11 - Annual Parrot Expo 2008! 'Enrich Your Bird's Life'; Keynote speaker Robin Shewokis, others to be announced.
